Accessing Audigy outputs

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi

I am running OpenSuSe 10.2, with PAM edited so I can use JACK in Real Time, and my soundcard is (PCI)  Audigy 2 ZS.
I have installed latest version of ALSA and everything is working fine if I only want two channel (stereo) alsa_pcm playback.
Kmix shows about 50 output sliders!
But if I try to access more of the the Audigy's audio outputs by configuring JACK' s Setup for more than two Output Channels, Jack will not run.
In Messages it says:
ALSA: cannot set channel count to 6 (or whatever) for capture
ALSA: cannot configure capture channel
cannot load driver module alsa

I know it is possible, because about a year ago I remember being able to see several playback channels in JACK's Connect view - but perhaps I was using a different disro at that time.
I have worn Google out looking for an answer.
Can somebody please help?  If it involves typing code, please tell me exactly what to type and WHERE, because I am a relative newbie to Linux.

Thanks

Graham
