Re: No sound on analog input ( HDA-Intel )

Good evening again.

Little update since I have more information regarding this issue.

I'm pretty sure the problems comes from alsa and i'm definitely missing a mixer, the auxiliary ( aux ) . I have searched and read many things and so far, that's the information I have gathered.

The information on my cards is the following.

[root@localhost ~]$ cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [Intel          ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xdbff8000 irq 20
 1 [CX8801         ]: CX88x - Conexant CX8801
                      Conexant CX8801 at 0xdd000000

The information about the codec is the following :

 [root@localhost ~]$ cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0  | grep Codec
 Codec: Analog Devices AD1988B

Now, in my modprobe.conf, i'm using the following options.

 alias snd-card-0 snd_hda_intel
 alias sound-slot-0 snd_hda_intel
 options snd_hda_intel index=0 model=6stack-dig

I am still missing my aux mixer but I have sound on my headphones, speakers from mplayer.
I compiled alsa 1.0.16 for driver, utils and lib.

Why am I missing a mixer ?
Any ideas on how to debug more that problem ?
Using Mandriva 2008, kernel 2.6.22.9-desktop586-1mdv

Thank you for you time.

Good day everyone,

I'm trying to debug my sound issues after upgrading my box from mandriva 2006 to mandriva 2008 and Alsa 1.0.12 to Alsa 1.0.15. Since the update, I cant get sound from tvtime using the analog audio cable. I would appreciate to have some more information on how to decide if the issue is with the Mandriva update or with the alsa update.  So far, reverting my mandriva 2008 alsa version to 1.0.12( lib, driver and utils ) did not resolve the issue. However, if the update with mandriva is the issue, how can I get the sound on my analog sound back. On the same box, aslamixer dont show me the same mixers depending on the installation.  Where does alsa get the mixer list ?

I will post any requested information that would be needed to fix that issue.
