hi all,
I want to inquire about an update to alsa that will allow better support
for bluetooth headsets.
In this post @02 Nov 2007:
http://www.mail-archive.com/ekiga-list@xxxxxxxxx/msg03135.html
Fabien from the bluez crew states:
"device enumeration with ALSA does not work with pcm plugins, which
means the headset does not appear in the devices list. I wrote a patch
for pwlib to fix that, but this is really a hack, as it hardcodes the
device string with no knowledge of its presence whatsoever"
even before bluez moved to the user space concept :
http://wiki.bluez.org/wiki/HOWTO/AudioDevices the idea of alsa getting a
signal and adding a new device on the fly was interesting. now that
bluez supports d-bus, are there plans to change alsa to support it?
that why , when I power on my headset, I will have it hooked up to the
pc, and answer a call.
Niv
