Title: RE: jack sense not working

Hi all

Can someone please help? I'm not getting anywhere with this.

To clarify, I have a Toshiba laptop, using intel hda soundcard with ALSA 1.0.15. The sound works fine from the speakers, but plugging in headphones does nothing - i.e. the speakers stay on and headphones have no sound. Turning the 'headphones' switch on or off in alsamixer makes no difference.

Thanks!
Brad

Hi guys

Thanks for the fast responses!

Jonathan:- There is a headphone control, which is on or off. It doesn't work in either mode.

Jonty:- I have a Toshiba laptop (Tecra P5) using an intel hda card, so I'd love to see that howto!

Any other hardware info you need?

Cheers

What hardware are you running? I have had this problem with my toshiba
laptop using an intel hda card which I fixed using the howto (which I
can't find to post atm). Post your hardware, then we can see where we'll
get to. (and I'll try and find that link regardless.)

Is there a "headphone" control in alsamixer ?
