Looking at the output from when you ran the script, some stuff seems to be
missing. For example alsa-lib is not installed, and the only snd module
loaded is the snd-intel8x0. There should be a load of other snd modules
loaded. Was the sound working when you ran the script?

Just for comparison (and it's a different sound card using emu10k1) I've put
the output of my /sbin/lsmod | grep snd for F8 below.

$ /sbin/lsmod | grep snd

snd_emux_synth         31937  1 snd_emu10k1_synth

soundcore               9633  3 snd

When the sound isn't working, check /sbin/lsmod | grep snd, and see which snd
modules are loaded, and do the same when the sound is working.

Also when the sound isn't working, as root, run the following commands.
rmmod snd-intel8x0
modprobe snd-intel8x0

Does the sound start working after doing this?

I would also install the alsa-lib package, as that was installed as part of my
installation of F8. The alsa-oss package is usefull as well, if you run music
apps, as many use the OSS still, and this package provides oss emulation.

All the best, and sorry for the delay in my reply.

Nigel.
