Also when the sound isn't working, as root, run the following commands. rmmod snd-intel8x0 modprobe snd-intel8x0 Does the sound start working after doing this? I would also install the alsa-lib package, as that was installed as part of my installation of F8. The alsa-oss package is usefull as well, if you run music apps, as many use the OSS still, and this package provides oss emulation. All the best, and sorry for the delay in my reply.
