AD1986A (latest HG): Surround problems and Muting on volume change

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

This is one more try to get an advice how to setup Surround sound with
this chip. I hope that someone will have an idea. I have Asus M2NPV-VM
with 3 jacks and I am using latest HG.

"speaker-test -Dplug:surround51 -c6 -t waw" is working great, but I
had to apply a small patch to get working at all.

mplayer plays 5.1 movies without any problems by using:
"mplayer -ao alsa:device=surround51 -channels 6"

But... when I play stereo sound (2 channel) when 6channel is selected
in alsamixer, left speakers (front left and rear left) are not working
and the sound is being played on the right (front and rear) and center
speakers. And as soon as I change volume during this, sound is muted
totally only rmmod/modprobe snd-hda-intel gets the sound back.

Is there a way to solve this?

Thanks a lot.

M.
