Mix-record on hda_intel Macbook Rev2?

Hi,

Im curious to know if there is any way short of spdif cable between
headphone and linein jacks on my macbook to record what is being
played back. On other cards ive owned (desktop) ive had a stereo-mix
or mix-record option. I've used this often on my Audigy and my Turtle
Beach Santa Cruz(cs46xx) but now on my mac I am unable to do this.

I am assuming, that as there is a dmix interface allowing alsa to
multiplex the multiple programs trying to send sound to the card, that
alsa itself should have the 'master' stream as it were; are there any
ways to create an interface/pcm to capture this and let me record with
Audacity?

Mike
