Sorry, it was a bit late when I wrote this. I am trying to get both
working at the same time. If I try the 3stack I have 5.1 sound from the 3
jacks at the back of the PC. In that case I have the 2ch/6ch selection
option in alsamixer and this works fine. An IEC 958 output is in that case
not available. When I try 3stack-dig I do have stereo sound and I have IEC
958 output, but there is no way I get 5.1 sound from the jacks at the
back. The selection 2ch/6ch is also not available. The output of aplay -l
now shows both an analog and a digital device (while using the
model=3stack only analog).

Does this make things a bit more clear?
