CS5530: Installing latest Alsa into latest linux kernel

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I've built a 2.6.21.5 Linux kernel but have discovered that the sound
chip I've got (cs5530) isn't supported. However it *is* present in
the latest 1.0.4 alsa driver release.

However, I cant figure out how to merge the two. I tried running the
configure in the alsa-drivers directory only to be told that my
kernel already contained alsa.

I then tried replacing the existing kernel/sound directory with the
alsa-kernel directory, but on running make xconfig I got errors.

Can anybody help (preferably with a route to running make xconfig)?
