Thanks, I deleted the 2 stanzas.  Now when I try aplay -Dusb-audio
/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav I get no sound and the following
output:  "Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav' :
Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Mono
aplay: set_params:905: Channels count non available"  I am sure that the
mixer is turned up.
