I hadn't used sound for a couple months, but SPDIF has stopped
working. The optical out on the SPDIF module no longer lights up.
alsamixer no longer shows any IEC958 settings. iecset gives the
following error:
control "IEC958 Playback Default" not found
I'm currently using Fedora Core 6, with Alsa v1.0.14rc1. aadebug
output is shown below. aplay -L is also attached, and it shows
iec958, but when I try to use the device, I get the following error:
[root@simon ats]# aplay -D iec958 /usr/share/system-config-soundcard/sound-sample.wav
ALSA lib setup.c:555:(add_elem) Cannot obtain info for CTL elem (MIXER,'IEC958 Playback AC97-SPSA',0,0,0): No such file or directory
aplay: main:545: audio open error: No such file or directory
Anyone have any ideas where I can start investigating this? Why
doesn't my card seem to allow IEC958 anymore?
