Hello,

i am using a Notebook ASUS 6000KM with Gentoo (Linux version
2.6.20-gentoo-r7)(gcc-Version 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6-r2, ssp-3.4.6-1.0,
pie-8.7.10)).
All in all it works fine, but without sounds!
'alsamixer' brings the following:
>> localhost henrynick # alsamixer
>> No mixer elems found
alsaconf starts without errors, but brings only one information,
that there is 'no supported PnP or PCI card found'.

alsa-moduls are in the kernel and the driver for SIS AC 97 also, but it
doesent makes a noise. Someone with something information or tip for me?

this is what 'lspci -v 'say's:

00:02.6 Modem: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS] AC'97 Modem Controller
