Hi, I'm trying to record audio from Roland VS-880EX Workstation by optical cable using the iec958 input of my Aureon (ice1724) soundcard. I only get loud noise recorded. I could not hear any music through the recorded noise and it seems not to depend on whether the VS880 output any sound or not. When the cable is disconnected the soundcard records silence. I was able to record from VS880 to MiniDisc, and from soundcard to VS880, so everything except the soundcard spdif input seem to work correctly. I used the following command for recording: $ arecord -D spdif -r 44100 -c 2 -f S32_LE test.wav /proc/asound/cards: 0 [T51Sky ]: Aureon51 - Terratec Aureon 5.1-Sky Terratec Aureon 5.1-Sky at 0xd400, irq 20 /proc/asound/version Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.14rc3 (Wed Mar 14 07:25:50 2007 UTC). $ uname -srvp Linux 2.6.21-rc6-rt0 #3 PREEMPT Sun Apr 15 04:48:04 MSD 2007 athlon Is there any way to make the spdif input work with ALSA? -- Mikhail ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
