Hi Lee, Thanks for the tip ... but I'm unhappy to report that after going through all the options for ALC883 in snd-hda-intel listed in /usr/share/doc/alsa-base/driver/ALSA-Configuration.txt.gz the volume level is still very very low... I did notice that I get the following line in /var/log/syslog when the module's inserted: Apr 11 09:24:14 cowgal kernel: hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC883, trying auto-probe from BIOS... Is this worthy of a bug report to the devel list???? Thanks!! > On 4/10/07, marie s <mrstrn@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > No, when I do that there's no sound at all... > > > > I double checked and when I plug the speakers in > and > > ou t of the front headphone jack, when a > soundfile's > > playing, I can get it to click for a second from > the > > speakers, but no sound from the file at all... > > > > I'm only able to get sound from Line Out (the > green > > jack in the back)... > > Try some of the other model options described in > Documentation/ALSA-Configuration.txt. > > Lee > ____________________________________________________________________________________ Expecting?
