Hi, Yesterday I'd been using my pc all day, shut it down and late last night booted up and all of a sudden my soundcard (m-audio delta 66) no longer works. Eventually narrowed it down to the fact the /lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install does not exist. This is in Debian Sarge, using kernel-source-2.6.8. I've also got alsa-xxx.1.0.11 compiled & installed from src. --------- scrapyard:~# modprobe -r snd_ice1712 scrapyard:~# modprobe -v snd_ice1712 insmod /lib/modules/2.6.8.GRN-X3/kernel/sound/drivers/mpu401/snd-mpu401-uart.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.8.GRN-X3/kernel/sound/i2c/snd-i2c.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.8.GRN-X3/kernel/sound/pci/ac97/snd-ac97-codec.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.8.GRN-X3/kernel/sound/i2c/snd-cs8427.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.8.GRN-X3/kernel/sound/i2c/other/snd-ak4xxx-adda.ko insmod /lib/modules/2.6.8.GRN-X3/kernel/sound/pci/ice1712/snd-ice17xx-ak4xxx.ko install modprobe --ignore-install snd-ice1712 && /lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install snd-ice1712 insmod /lib/modules/2.6.8.GRN-X3/kernel/sound/pci/ice1712/snd-ice1712.ko sh: line 1: /lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install: No such file or directory FATAL: Error running install command for snd_ice1712 --------- There is not even a /lib/alsa directory, nor /usr/lib/alsa /usr/local/lib/alsa (although /usr/lib/alsa-lib does exist does not contain modprobe-post-install). So how do I get this /lib/alsa/modprobe-post-install back? Which alsa item puts it there?
