Oops, I answered my own question after some more looking:

EVENTS['dvd']['PREV'] = Event(PREV)
EVENTS['dvd']['NEXT'] = Event(NEXT)

I didn't realize these events weren't automatically attached to the
event object of the same name.  Anyway, it'd be great if these events
were put into the default event maps, I think!  (Maybe they have been
for 1.7).
