Hi,
I bought the Roland/Edirol UA-1EX for a Compaq nx9010 laptop based on the ALSA list that it is fully supported. However I can't get it to work. Here are some details (keep in mind I am a newbie):
Installed ALSA 1.0.12Running on 2.6.17-6mdv-dazuko, Mandriva 2007.0 PWP (with latest updates)
I read on the web that SoundCore needs to be installed so I did:[root@nx9010 jeff]# modinfo soundcorefilename: /lib/modules/2.6.17-6dazuko/kernel/sound/soundcore.kodescription: Core sound moduleauthor: Alan Coxlicense: GPLalias: char-major-14-*vermagic: 2.6.17-6mdv-dazuko SMP mod_unload 686 gcc-4.1depends:

Things look good so far.
But from the MCC Hardware List:Identification (under Unknown/Other)Vendor: ‎EDIROLDescription: ‎UA-1EXMedia class: ‎ConnectionBus: ‎USBBus PCI #: ‎2PCI device #: ‎3Vendor ID: ‎0x0582Device ID: ‎0x0096Sub vendor ID: ‎0x0000Sub device ID: ‎0x0000MiscModule: ‎unknown
So ALSA must not be loading the driver. How can I fix this?
Thanks,Dan
