Dear ALSA-users, I have a VIA Epia (type CN10000EG) motherboard with a VT8237 sound chip and a VT1618 mixer. ALSA plays fine stereo sound, and also the command "aplay -D surround51 chan-id.wav" (which is a 6-channel WAVE file) plays without errors. Unfortunately I cannot find the mixer control which switches the 'Mic to Center/LFE speaker' output and the 'Line-in to Rear' output. On the internet are lots of sites which advise me to enable those controls, but they simply doesn't show up in alsamixer. I've tried almost all combinations of controls, even disabling DXS, muting IEC958 and the like. I've compiled the last release (development release 1.0.14rc1) of ALSA (driver, libs and utils). Is there anyone who can help me in fixing this, or with installing the VIA driver who claims to support it (http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=420&OSID=20&CatID=2390&SubCatID=104 <http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=420&OSID=20&CatID=2390&SubCatID=104>)?
