Thus via dxs is some name which the manufacturer of you r card gave that particular control. Probably if you looked at the spec sheet for that sound chip it would explain what those were. I agree that the names are highly non-intuitive. for example on most cards, the input volume controls, like say the line in volume control, does not affect the volume of the signal delivered to the computer.
