I have nothing to add to Bill's great tips, but one thing to note: You
do not need an asoundrc at all, so you can savely delete that one,
unless you insist on writing "usb-audio" instead of "hw:0". And
another question: Is your usb audio card *really* card 0 and not card
1? You can check with "cat /proc/asound/cards".
