You probably know that a crossover made of 12db/octave LPF + HPF has a
+3db bump at crossover frequency.

Fist order (6d/octave) crossover can be ideally flat, and I think
either LPF or HPF output has to be inverted; Linkwitz-Riley crossovers are
ideally flat, and LPF, HPF outputs are in phase.
