What are the contents of /proc/asound/seq/queues after the first note
has played?

This is a perfectly valid interrupt vector value.  When SMP and the
I/O-APIC are enabled, Linux distributes PCI interrupts numbers over the
whole 16..255 range.

His interrupt is larger, but that doesn't make you any less a geek.  ;-)
