I'm not really 100% sure why we
didn't
put RHEL 6.4 on. I think it had to do with some RAID hard drive
enclosure
driver issues and Dell recommended 6.3. Anyhow, we are running
1.2.1
currently and I suppose we would want to run the latest.
The latest is RHEL 6.4 - you will want to run RHEL
6.4 in order to use 389-ds-base-1.2.11 which has the CLEANALLRUV task which you
will need to use to scrub your replication metadata
of your old servers once you have
completely switched over. Otherwise, you'll have to use CLEANRUV and
depend on timing and the whims of the
replication protocol.
We were
looking at some of the docs but hadn't really found anything
"step
by step" so I thought I'd ask.
Thanks!

We have 2 new servers that we are bringing into our suite, and

the 2 new

ultimately
like to see/have happen is:
install 389-ds on the new servers
set up replication to replicate the data from the 2 old servers
to the
2 new servers
point the underlying LDAP operations to the 2 new servers
take the 2 old servers out of the mix
Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts on if this is a good

the best way to accomplish what we'd like to do?
Yes, that should work.
Why not RHEL 6.4?
What version of 389-ds-base are you planning to use?
