It is Fedora-ds 1.0 on ES 4 I found it was a false error. The reason it would not change was the password was in my history file. What platform? Note with fedora ds 1.1 the service name was changed to "dirsrv" What app are you using to change the password? What is the full command line? If you are using "passwd" are your /etc/nsswitch.conf and /etc/ldap.conf settings correct? If you are using /usr/bin/ldappasswd are your /etc/openldap/ldap.conf settings correct?
