Adding users to additional Linux/Posix groups

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

If you want to do it simple, use a tool like ldapadmin.exe or phpldapadmin.

ldapadmin.sourceforge.net/
phpldapadmin.sourceforge.net/

What this tools will do is to add the user to the specified group. The LDIF
entry for the group will be:

dn: cn=devel,ou=Groups,dc=domain,dc=com,dc=py
memberUid: user1
memberUid: user2
memberUid: user3
memberUid: user4

If the user belogs to more then one group, the the user will exist as an
entry in more than one posixGroup object.

Hi,

I read the previous post on Unix groups, and I read the linked information
on mapping to ACI?s. This is far more involved then my question (and I
didn?t find the answer, either).

I am looking to simply add a Linux user to more than one Posix group. I?ve
searched through the docs and have yet to find a clear simple explanation
of how to do this. Do I just use commas to separate on the value in the
existing posix group attributes?

Thanks,
