Good morning, Our Fedora DS server has stopped working. I believe it's v1.0.4. I replaced the non-working fedora-ds with a backup of the directory from last week when it _was_ working. The /opt/fedora-ds/slapd-servername directory logs (error and access) provide no clues. But, the /fedora-ds/admin-serv/log/ states: [Mon Jul 28 02:17:34 2008] [warn] Unable to bind as LocalAdmin to populate LocalAdmin tasks into cache. [Mon Jul 28 02:17:35 2008] [crit] host_ip_init(): PSET failure: Failed to create PSET handle (pset error = ) Configuration Failed I found one posting on the internet that says permissions could be the issue. http://osdir.com/ml/redhat.fedora.directory.user/2006-03/msg00037.html I set the files in /opt/fedora-ds/admin-serv/config/ to my admin user for files. But, that hasn't helped. I tried to do an ldapsearch from /opt/fedora-ds/shared/bin/ and that failed. Error said it couldn't locate the ldap database. I put this in: ldapsearch [-x] -b o=netscaperoot -D "cn=directory manager" -w password "objectclass=nsAdminConfig" dn Error: ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server (-1) Am I making sense at 4AM? Any help would be appreciated. I can't decide if this is a BIND, SSL, permissions, or what have you issue.
