Hi, Yep, you are right in that it is the directory version not the filesystem version. We are rapidly coming to the same conclusion about figuring a way to connect to an SGI box to get the info off. The drives are from the Onyx Stampede drive system that uses the high voltage SCSI, so it's kind of tough to interface to. We'll have to figure out if it is worth it. I think we might have some tapes around that may have the info. The tape part we already have figured out, it's just the drives would have been faster. Oh well, where's my hammer....... Irix 6.2 introduced Version 4 filesystems, but version 2 directories didn't come along until a couple of years later. It might be worth posting there to see if there is anyone local to you with working hardware that would enable you to pull the information off the disks....
