I don't know much about the Intel driver, but I do notice your VideoRam entry in the Section "Device" which seems to cause the driver some confusion: VideoRam 128000000 The VideoRam option describes the videoram in kilobytes, not bytes. It comes equipped with a 82845G/GL [Brookdale-G] Chipset for video which provides the following video mode capabilities: 640 x 480, 16M colors (60, 72, 75, 85, 100, 120 Hz) 800 x 600, 16M colors (60, 72, 75, 85, 100, 120 Hz) 1024 x 768, 16M colors (60, 70, 75, 85, 100,120 Hz) 1152 x 864, 16M colors (60, 70, 75, 85, 100 Hz) 1280x 1024, 16M colors (60, 75, 85, 100 Hz) 1600 x 1200, 16M colors (60 Hz) 1920 x 1440, 64K colors (60, 75 Hz) 2048 x 1536, 64K colors (60 Hz) However, I can only get those modes when I'm running Windows XP from which I'm trying to get migrate all my computing needs. Nevertheless, it seems that with XFree86, I have to choose between the higher color depth at 640x480 resolution or 256 colors at 1024x768. However, I can compromise somewhat by using a "virtual desktop" of 1024x768 at 16bit color depth, but this is a very inconvenient mode of operation, especially when I try to do graphic manipulations. The configuration done by XFree86's configure function will only give me a resolution of 640x480 with no other options. Is there any way to get the proper video modes to operate?_______________________________________________ XFree86 mailing list XFree86@xxxxxxxxxxx http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
