Hi, I am guessing that the answer is no, but is there any way to upgrade freetype2 on an installed Xfree86 4.3.0 (Slackware 9.1). The latest Gimp needs better than the freetype 2.1.5 it finds on my system. Freetype 2.1.10 installation instructions tell me that (in addition to making the standard install to /usr/lib), I should take care of Xfree86 because some versions use an old version internally. I have /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/fonts/libfreetype.a (nothing else relevant under X11R6), but if I replace that with the new version Xfree86 fails to find "freetypemoduledata" and refuses to load the module. Any ideas please? Thanks, Geoff ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo!
