in your log file, is there a ``XF86Config-4'' file in your /etc/X11 dir ?
also , u need a
DefaultDepth 8
in your
Section "Screen"
and, a
Modes "800x600"
in your
Subsection "Display"
mix of 4.1.0 server and 4.3.0.1 driver maybe also a problem.
