Hi Vishnu.

If the error is saying that the X server is already running, then it is quite probable that there is already a graphical session running on your machine.  Try pressing <CTRL>+<ALT>+<Fn> (where Fn is F1, F2, F3, F4, etc).  You can usually also force X to start another graphical session by running: "startx -- :1" (or try another number, if that doesn't work for you) - please notice the spaces though.

If neither of these help, then we may be able to help you further if you reply and include the contents of any error logs it mentions (for example, /etc/log/XFree86.0.log or /var/log/Xorg.0.log.
