Hello,

I have a virtual server. I am trying to install X on it. I have tried both the Xinstall.sh with all the .tgz packages and also with "yum groupinstall "X Window System"(as suggested by my hosting support group).
The server is running Fedora Core 4.
XFree86 -autoconfig /-config & startx fail with the following message:

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages.
This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".
Please report problems to xfree86@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Also, if I try to go to /dev and issue an "ls" command, the server will crash and I will be forced to reboot.(at least ssh crashes)

Please Help.
Thank you
