FreeBDS new system

Attached are the xdm-errors file in full and the XFree86.0.log in full since the system was intalled. This is strange because I had a Mandrake linux system installed on the same machine and it mysteriously refused to start X past a blank blue screen (lieraly the 'blue screen of death'?). It occured after I installed a copy of Blender from tehh cd included with the book The Official Blender Guide. I'm not a computer scientist and hadn't looked at the error logs and dmsg's for that system so I don't know if it is related. But since X refuses to start with error 'can't find screen' on this FreeBSD system, I suspect there is a hardware problem. I did have the Mandrake system in a dula boot system with Windows XP and when the X display problem began, I tried booting into Windows to see if there was a problem there and it seemed to work fine. The FreeBSD system came from a cd included with the book 'FreeBSD Unleashed' (SAMS publishing). I have since purchased the full power package FreeBSD with 10 cds and a manual. However, if there is a hardware or driver problem with the video card, I expect to have the same problem if I reinstall from that package.
Thanks for your time.

Sorry, they can't be complete because I've had the Mandrake system for several years and I'm sure the size of the files reflect what I gathered when the problem appeared.
