The third XFree86 4.5.0 release candidate is available. Source and some binaries can be found at: ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/snapshots/4.4.99.903/ Documentation is at: http://www.xfree86.org/4.4.99.903/ Preview documentation for 4.5.0 is at: http://www.xfree86.org/~dawes/pre-4.5/ This release candidate resolves problems discovered during testing of the first two release candidates. The DRM source has been rolled back to a version based on what we shipped with the 4.4.0 release, and has been verified to build and run on a range of Linux 2.4.x and 2.6.x kernels, and on recent versions of FreeBSD. Thanks to all who have tested and reported their results and/or submitted fixes! This is expected to be the final 4.5.0 release candidate, and marks the start of the code freeze phase. Only serious bug fixes and documentation updates will be accepted between now and the 4.5.0 release. All potential commits other than documentation updates must be reviewed and approved by either Marc La France or myself during this code freeze period. The focus now is on platform and stability testing, and on updating the documentation. If you run into any problems with this release candidate, please report details here. The remaining issue for the 4.5.0 release is: - Documentation updates, especially the releae notes. If you have updates for the documentation, send them here. Enjoy!
