Remote Ctrl-Alt-F7/F8 (SwitchScreen) Capability?

How would one arrange things in order to
have a system logged on to via ssh or rlogin
switch previously started X sessions. I.e.,
having done this from system 'A':

# ssh B
# startx -- :0 -layout SomeLayout_1 vt7 &
# startx -- :1 -layout SomeLayout_2 vt8 &

is there a way to select one or the other xsessions
as the "active" one on system 'B'?

I know the usual ctrl-alt-F7, ctrl-alt-F8 key combinations
to accomplish that if one were logged in directly to system
'B', but I want to invoke that same change while logged
in remotely from system 'A'.
