Hello,

I can't start X server on RedHat 7.3, I have reinstalled several times even
by using 2 different sets of CDs. The computer is a DELL Optiplex GX60 (
processor celeron ). When I log it says Kernel 2.4.18-3 on i686.
The original onboard video card is an Intel 8245G but not supported by
Redhat 7.3 so I added a PCI one : S3Trio64V2/DX that is recognized during
the installation ( I even clicked on 'test settings' and I could see the
Gnome Desktop ! ), I even configured to the lowest resolution 600x480, color
8 bits but sill won't start X server.
If I do X -version, I get : XFree866 Version 4.2.0 ( RedHat Linux release
4.2.0-8 ).

Thank you
Pierre
