I am trying to RedHat 9.0 on a FOSA 8500V notebook and I cannot get XFREE configured correctly. At boot time the video appears to be VIA Apollo Pro133AX with 16Meg of video ram. I can do the install using graphics with no problem but cannot get X to start when the installation completes. The boot shows video bios is shadowed. The XF386Config shows a Generic Laptop Display Panel 1024x768. The Videocard shows as a ATI Rage 128 Mobility with 16384 of video memory. When I check the error file it shows a monitor of Hitachi TX38D95VC1CAA Color, Single, TFT Screen(s) found but none have a usable configuration. |
