If when you boot you are dropped straight to a text-based login prompt, then try the following: + Login as root + Run one of the following programmes: - xf86cfg - xf86config + Make sure you answer all questions as best you can. I can't remember which, but one of those programmes gives you a low-res GUI which you can use to configure your system. It takes a little getting used-to. + Try restarting your X system (as root, try typing "startx" (obviously without the " marks)).
