C&T 69030 and XFree86: cannot get higher res. than 1024x600

Hi,

I need to setup XFree86 on a Kontron CP-302 cPCI mainboard, equiped with a C&T 69030 video controller with 4 MB VRAM, capable of resolutions up to1600x1200x16 @ 60Hz. We are running SuSE 7.2 on it and I managed to recompile XFree86 4.3.0 from SuSE on that platform.

My problem is that I cannot get a better resolution than 1024x600. I have tried without success:

+ X -configure
+ SaX2 (with UseModeline and FixPanelSize forced to yes)
+ xf86configure

In the log files one can see that the chips probe the display resolution and it always get 1024x600, independent of what I really connect (LCD or CRT).

I attach the different XF86Config files generated by the three methods and their corresponding XFree86.log files, as well as the output of "lspci -vvv"

Do you have any idea of what is happening? Any hint?

Thanks a lot in advance

Alejandro
