NVIDIA driver fails on 2.6.9/4.4

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

 Linux 2.6.8.1, XFree86 4.4, nvidia TNT2-M64
Kernels always upgraded from sources.
Up to this kernel, no problem with nvidia driver 61.11
System upgraded to 2.6.9: OK, functioning normally.
Nvidia driver 61.11 reinstalled (as it must) on 2.6.9: OK
Trying to run X (startx) fails with error,
"Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module!"
Notes:
- same kernel configuration (.config)
- same X configuration (XF86Config)
- the 'build' and 'source' pointers in 'lib/modules'
point toward the correct (active) source and headers.

Attached, please find the relevant,
nvidia driver installation and XFree86 log files.

Thanks,
