I also noticed that you are loading the module LoadModule: "fbdev". Therefore you should (also) manually set your BusID in the Device section of your X config file. Do you have a section Option "UseFBDev" in your config? I am not sure what will happen in your specific case if you run x without FBDev, but you could also give that a try. If you don't have that option specified in your x config It will default as off. -M ________________________________________ From: ASIF IQBAL [mailto:ashuasif02@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Saturday, December 04, 2004 7:43 AM To: xfree86@xxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Michael Hamilton Subject: Re: [XFree86 on Solaris/X86] (EE) GLINT(1): Cannot read V_BIOS(3) Hello! At first I have configured XFree86 only with "SIS" card, and it worked fine. Then while I tried to configure both SIS and Permedia cards together by the command "XFree86 -configure", the file in /var/log/XFree86.0.log have the error message showing like "(EE) GLINT(1): Cannot read V_BIOS(3)" can anybody give me the solution for this. And for the configured file i got after the above step "XF86Config.new", and i tried to check the Xserver by the command "XFree86 -xf86config XF86Config.new" the system hanged. Please give me the solution for this. > > > >There is a possible fix for this in our CVS. If that doesn't work, it might be that the driver for /dev/xsvc doesn't allow certain mappings, in which case you would have to switch to the XFree86-provided aperture driver. > > > >Marc. > > > >+----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ > >| Marc Aurele La France | work: 1-780-492-9310 | > >| Computing and Network Services | fax: ; 1-780-492-1729 | > >| 352 General Services Building | email: tsi@xxxxxxxxxxx | > >| University of Alberta +-----------------------------------+ > >| Edmonton, Alberta | | > >| T6G 2H1 | Standard disclaimers apply | > >| CANADA | | > >+----------------------------------+-----------------------------------+ > >XFree86 developer and VP.
