XFree86 locks up with Radeon 7500

I'm posting this in a desperate attempt to get XFree86 working with an ATI Radeon 7500 video card. Here are the details of my configuration:

PC: Dell Optiplex GX1, PIII 550, 512MB RAM
OS: FreeBSD 5.2.1
Video: ATI 3D Rage Pro AGP on-board (at PCI 1:0:0)
Radeon RV200 QW [Radeon 7500] PCI card with DVI and analog ports (at PCI 2:11:0)

I am using the stock XFree86 Version 4.3.0. There is no setting in the main system BIOS to disable the on-board video chip, however, it appears to be automatically disabled when another video card is installed.

XFree86 works perfectly using only the on-board Rage Pro video. When XFree86 is properly configured to use the Radeon 7500 the system simply locks up - I can't access other terminals or do anything. In addition, when the system locks up no new XFree86 log file is created.

NOTE: The XFree86 log file I'm attaching has a deliberate misconfiguration in it. Its the only way I can get a log file to appear (no log file is created when system locks up).
