Type Xconfigurator and follow onscreen instructions for reconfiguring your display card and everything will work out fine. Soon after just restart your computer and not just the service but the reboot command. I got my startx screen with that command. He did mention in an earlier email that he installed some special 845G drivers. From the logfile it appears that the 845G chipset is detected eventually, but the VESA modes just don't seem to match against anything his monitor is reporting as valid.
