Finally, I was able to successfully compile the X11 (the latest developer version from website). But has the following problem when make install: As a regular user with no root previllege on a RH Advanced server, I compiled x11 with projectroot = app in my home directory. However, when make install, it trys to create a softlink of a library to /usr/local/x11, which I don't have write permission. I am asking which place in .def I should suppress this automation.
