hello,
I have a problem installing XFree86 4.4.0. I'm using FC2 with fluxbox as WM and i have a Hercules Kyro 4000XT TV out video card. I downloaded the neccesary files and used the sh Xinstall.sh command to start the installation, and followed al the guidelines in the documentation. At first I got errors in the /var/log/XFree86.0.log about my mouse, but i resolved that by changing the configfile from /dev/mouse to /dev/input/mice. Next i got an error saying this: Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing from list! . So i removed this font path in the config file. Now there is no longer an error in the log, but when I try the XFree86 -xf86config /root/XF86Config command, all i get is a black screen. This is the end of my log file:
