It's likely that you will need to write your own pointer driver

Most touch screens give co-ordinates in absolute terms. Is that what you
are using?

A good place to start would be the drivers for the Elographics or Microtouch
touch screens which are bundled in with the latest XFree distribution.

Subject: Mice with absolute-coordinates?

Hello!

In accordance with mouse sources, all mice protocols post their coordnates
as relative axis. We have the proprietary device (a la mouse) that can post
only absolute coordinates (but not the cad, since the hotspot pointer is
permanent and exact mouse buttons are exist). What we want is to avoid
introducing yet another protocol & the input driver. Does XFree86 already
support some device/protocol, that matches our needs?
