Dear all, I just installed my matlab for linux, its version is the 6th and it runs over a Java virtual machine (jvm). My linux is a Red Hat 9.0 running on a Dell laptop. The matlab only starts on text mode because there is a problem either with the jvm or with the interaction between this device and others. When I tried to launch the matlab the message was printed: Opening log file: /root/java.log.3568 Warning: Failed to start Java Virtual Machine Warning: Disabling Java Support Then I went to the log file: /root/sys/java/jre/glnx86/jre/lib/i386/native_threads/libzip.so: symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference (libzip.so) Unable to initialize threads: cannot find class java/lang/Thread So I have a couple of questions: - How can I verify whether or not the Java Virtual Machine is really installed? - If so do I have to change the JVM version or it's a matter of changing the GLIBC_2.0 version? My final thesis depends on this linux to work with matlab, please help me.
