This seems to cause confusion. The X server needs to be running on the 
machine wich is displaying the program. The server does not need to be 
run on the system which is executing the program.
You then set the DISPLAY environment variable on the system which is 
running the program.
Sample steps:
 Start Exceed on system that is to display the program.
Set DISPLAY on system which runs the program
export DISPLAY=address_of_display_system:0 
export DISPLAY="192.168.1.129:0"
Run program. It should display on the appropriate system.
