Hi everyone,

I found out that the second error of not being able to login was because as
I made backup copies of X11, X11R6, etc. that my disk size shrank, so I was
at the limit where non root users couldn't store anything to disk... so when
I tried to login with those accounts, they couldn't login... so I removed
some more files, so they're back ok now.

Hello all,

I figured out it probably had something to do with my config from before
being overwritten, so they were written back again and I also did a
reconfigruation of XF86Config. Now I can get back into my GNOME windowing
system with root, but not any other user.

Any possibilities of why?
