In the Olden Days, one might set the colors for the hands of xclock like this:
xclock -hd blue
...and all would be well. However, now we have XRender, and doing such a thing does nothing (no warning about the option being ignored). Nor does a Google search turn up any information about how XRender helps the end user render colors with their xclock.
Now I understand that one can effect the changes one wants by adding the
-norender option to xclock, but I can't figure out how to change colors if XRender is used. I'm assuming that adding XRender support to XClock didn't remove such basic functionality. Am I correct?
BTW, I am using Linux, Fedora Yarrow distribution. I'm not sure what version of X that uses but as I downloaded it about a month ago I assume it's quite up-to-date.
Also, I have tried putting some resources in my $HOME/.Xdefaults file, and I have modified /usr/lib/X11R6/lib/app-defaults/XClock... all to no avail.
Thanks for any help!
